    UAE president welcomes French president in Abu Dhabi

    ABU DHABI, December 22, 2025: President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday received Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, during a working visit to the United Arab Emirates aimed at further consolidating bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting took place at the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the French President upon his arrival. The two leaders exchanged New Year greetings and conveyed best wishes for continued progress and prosperity to their respective nations and peoples. The discussions reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between the UAE and France, which spans multiple sectors including economic cooperation, cultural exchange, renewable energy, and defense.

The meeting reflected the UAE and France’s commitment to maintaining a strong framework for collaboration built on mutual respect and shared interests.

    President Sheikh Mohamed and President Macron also addressed regional and international developments of common concern, emphasizing the value of continued dialogue and coordination on matters that promote global stability and security. The two leaders underscored the significance of international partnerships in addressing global challenges such as energy transition and environmental sustainability, which remain focal points of cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Paris.

    UAE–France partnership continues across multiple fields

    Attending the meeting from the UAE side were Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; as well as several ministers and senior government officials. The French delegation accompanying President Macron included a number of ministers and senior officials, underscoring the comprehensive scope of bilateral engagement between the two nations.

    Following the official talks, President Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon in honor of President Macron and the accompanying delegation. The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the enduring strength of UAE–France relations and the consistent development of institutional partnerships across multiple domains. President Macron arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier on Sunday, where he was welcomed at the Presidential Flight by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, along with several senior officials.

    Bilateral cooperation reflects mutual priorities

    The French President’s working visit reflects the ongoing momentum of diplomatic exchanges between the two nations, highlighting a sustained dialogue that has characterized UAE-France relations over the past decades. The UAE and France share a longstanding partnership that extends across economic, cultural, and strategic fields.
