The Central Bank of Egypt indicated this amount marked a 28.1% increase compared to around $23.2 billion during the same months of the previous year. The seven-month rise contributed roughly $6.5 billion more than in the same period of 2025. These figures reflect funds remitted by Egyptians working overseas and follow the record-high remittance level reported for all of 2025.

In July alone, remittances totaled about $4.5 billion, representing a 20% increase from approximately $3.8 billion in July 2025. Earlier months also experienced year-on-year growth. January saw inflows of roughly $3.5 billion, up from $2.9 billion the previous year. February’s remittances reached about $3.8 billion, compared to $3.0 billion in February 2025. The combined remittances for January and February reached approximately $7.3 billion, exceeding last year’s total for those two months by around $1.4 billion. This upward trend in early months contributed significantly to the overall seven-month increase.
The larger fiscal-year data further confirm the rising pattern of remittance inflows. During the fiscal year 2025/2026, Egypt received about $47.3 billion, a 29.6% jump from the $36.5 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year. June 2026 alone contributed about $4.2 billion, up from $3.6 billion in June 2025, marking a 15.6% month-on-month increase. The fiscal year spanned from July 2025 to June 2026, while the seven-month figures from January to July 2026 are tracked separately. In terms of dollars, the fiscal-year increase amounted to roughly $10.8 billion.
Remittance inflows show consistent growth across different reporting periods
Remittance data for the calendar year also indicate a strong upward trajectory. In 2025, Egypt received approximately $41.5 billion in remittances, reflecting a 40.5% rise from about $29.6 billion in 2024. This translates to an increase of roughly $11.9 billion. In the first half of fiscal 2025/2026, inflows totaled around $22.1 billion, compared to $17.1 billion during the same period a year earlier, representing a 29.6% growth.
December 2025 marked a monthly record with about $4.0 billion, up 24% from $3.2 billion in December 2024. By January 2026, total fiscal-year remittances had reached $25.6 billion, compared with $20.0 billion in the same months of the previous fiscal year. The Central Bank of Egypt reported about $29.4 billion through February, which is 28% higher than the roughly $23.0 billion registered during the same eight months. The year-on-year increase for December was approximately $800 million.
Spring figures continue to support remittance growth
Throughout spring, the cumulative remittance total kept climbing. Remittances from July through March of fiscal 2025/2026 reached approximately $34.9 billion, surpassing the $26.4 billion reported for the same period in the previous year by 32%. By April, the total had expanded to about $39.2 billion, a 33.2% increase from $29.4 billion, with April alone bringing in around $4.3 billion compared to $3.0 billion in April 2025. The monthly growth rate for April was 44%, roughly $1.3 billion.
By May, remittances for the fiscal year had climbed to about $43.1 billion, a 31.2% rise from $32.8 billion in the same month last year. May inflows totaled around $3.9 billion, up from approximately $3.4 billion in May 2025. Over the course of 11 months, the increase was about $10.3 billion. The fiscal year concluded at $47.3 billion after June, and July’s figures pushed the 2026 calendar-year total to $29.7 billion. The comparisons across the latest monthly, calendar-year, and fiscal-year data all remained above the levels recorded in the previous year.
